LAKE HAVASU SOCCER LEAGUE 2008
Players’ Equipment
- Thermal pants may be
worn as long as they are the same main color as the shorts and must be worn
above the knee.
- See rules for U-6
concerning sweat clothes.
- If a player wears
glasses for vision we must suggest they have a safety strap.
- Proper cleats or
tennis shoes must be worn. No toe cleats, side cleats, or anything you feel is
unsafe may worn.
- All players must wear
shin guards and they must be covered completely by the socks.
- Shirts must be tucked
in to the shorts. (See rules for U-8 and U-6)
- No jewelry of any
kind may be worn during the game.
Ball
size and playing time
- U-6
Ball size 3 Four equal 8 minute quarters
- U-8
Ball size 3 Four equal 12 minute quarters
- U-10
Ball size 4 Two 25 minute periods
- U-12
Ball size 4 Two
30 minute periods
- U-14
Ball size 5 Two

Two 40 minute periods
- In U-6 and U-8, the
team that has the ball for the start of the game also kicks off for the second
quarter. The other team kicks off at the third and fourth quarters. At the
half, the teams switch sides.
Number
of players
- U-6 4
vs. 4 must have at least 3 players present to begin the game
- U-8 6
vs. 6 must have at least 4 players present to begin the game
- U-10 8
vs. 8 must have at least 6 players present to begin the game
- U-12 11
vs. 11 must have at least 9 players present to begin the game
- U-14 11
vs. 11 must have at least 9 players present to begin the game
- U-18 11
vs. 11 must have at least 9 players present to begin the game
Substitution
- Exiting players must
leave the field before new players may enter.
- Entering players must
receive a signal from the referee. Assistant referees should make sure the
coach is ready to substitute before the substitution is asked for.
- Exiting and entering
players must do so at the halfway line.
- Coaches may
substitute at the following times:
- Prior to a throw-in
by your team.
- Prior to a goal
kick by either team.
- After a goal by
either team
- After an injury by
either team, if a play is stopped.
- At half time-either
team

Coaching Area
- Each coach,
substitute , or player is to remain within the “coaching area”.(10 yards on
either side of the halfway line and at least 1 yard away from the touch line)
- If both coaches
choose to stay on the same side of the field, “coaching areas”, for each team,
will be 10yards from the halfway line and at least 1 yard way from the touch
line on the half of the field for the duration of the game.
- Coaches must remain
in their own “coaching area”.
- All spectators must
remain at least 1 yard from the touch line.
Players Passes
- The referees will
collect the player passes and the coaches’ passes before the game. The referee
will hold the passes until; the game is over. Whoever checks the players
before the game will compare pictures to players and make sure that the team
numbers are all the same. In the event of a red card the referee will keep the
player and /or coaches pass. The referee will give the report and the pass to
the referee coordinator within 24 hours.
- In the event that the
coaches do not have the passes at the game, the referee will ask to see the
Team Roster. The referee will then call out the players names on the roster.
Whoever comes forward gets to play. If the Team Roster is not available, the
team may be rescheduled.
Game Cards
- The referee and both
assistants must have their names on the card.
- After the game is
over, each coach should sign the back of the card and make comments if
desired.
- IMPORTANT- The Game
Cards must be completed and either given to the Coach Coordinator at the field
or out through the mail slot in the LHSL office door, upstairs at 2156
McCulloch (The Tombs Building, with all the recruiting offices.) The doors are
open until 8pm daily.
Reminders
to Referees
- If a goal keeper
holds the ball for more than 5-6 seconds, the referee must adjudge it as a
time-wasting and award an incident free kick. (Do not use a visible means of
counting.)
1. Game Times
- All referees must
wear their whole uniform and nothing but your whole uniform.
- Players in U-10,
U-12, U14, and U-18 must all wear yellow or black
- The games must
start on time.
- Referees must show
up early to:
- Check the field
- Complete a proper
check of players
- Figure out
communications between the referee and the assistants
- Warm up your
muscles so you are ready to run.
2. Pay
- Center is paid
$15.00 and line or U-6 is paid $10.00
- Referees will
receive their pay at scheduled meetings or by mail.
3. Cautions and Send Offs
- No cards are used
in U-6 or U-8, referees can send off coaches if necessary.
- Do not show a
yellow card to a coach. Write the caution on the game card and tell the
coach the he/she has received a caution
- Do not show a red
card to a coach. Simply tell the coach that he/she must leave before the
game can continue. Make sure that there is an assistant who can be
responsible for the team before you continue. If the coach will not leave or
the game gets out of hand because of spectators, you can leave.
